Welcome to the International Joint Laboratory of Behavior and Cognitive Science

The International Joint Laboratory of Psychological Science at Zhengzhou Normal University was established in August 2016. It is a collaborative platform jointly built by Zhengzhou Normal University, the University of California, Davis, the University of Hildesheim in Germany, Hanbit Mental Rehabilitation Hospital in the Republic of Korea, Kotebe University of Education in Ethiopia, and the University of Yaoundé I in Cameroon.

Over the past decade, the Laboratory has grown into a leading hub for international collaboration in psychology, mental health, and behavioral science in central China. It has been recognized by both local and state-level authorities as an important innovation platform. The Laboratory occupies 1,200 square meters of dedicated space, with advanced facilities for psychophysiology and emotion research, social cognition, EEG and eye tracking, sensory integration, psychological assessment, and large-scale data analytics. These facilities support both fundamental experimental work and practice-oriented intervention and training programs.

The core team brings together over 20 full-time and affiliated researchers, most with international training experience. The Laboratory has secured a substantial portfolio of national research grants from major Chinese funding bodies, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Science Fund of China, as well as a series of major state-level projects supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.

The Laboratory has built a strong record of internationally collaborative research, holds a growing portfolio of national invention patents and other intellectual property, and has received multiple science and technology awards from Henan Province, including the Science and Technology Cooperation Award from the People’s Government of Henan Province.
